Member
Benefits
By
far the most important benefit of union membership is the opportunity to
participate in your union—to speak out at meetings, vote on contracts, elect
officers, and serve as stewards, officers, or committee members. Your
participation makes the union stronger and more effective in representing your
interests.
In
addition, the union makes various programs and services available to its
members, as summarized below.
Union Plus Program
A
wide variety of benefits are offered to members of AFL-CIO unions through the
Union Plus program. Legal services, low-interest mortgages, and
union-sponsored credit cards are among the most popular. For more information,
visit www.unionplus.org and enter
“CWA” in the appropriate window to find out what benefits are available to CWA
members.
